Aby skutecznie przeciwdziałać zjawisku piractwa internetowego, konieczne jest dogłębne zbadanie przyczyn jego popularności. W tym celu w niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano podstawowe motywy, którymi kierują się konsumenci korzystający za pośrednictwem Internetu z nieautoryzowanych kopii utworów chronionych prawem autorskim. Motywy te podzielono na dwie grupy: ekonomiczne oraz psychologiczno-społeczne. Zostały one przedstawione w oparciu o liczne badania oraz analizy szeroko omawiane w literaturze przedmiotu. To effectively tackle the issue of online piracy, it is necessary to examine in depth the reasons for its popularity. For this purpose, the article presents basic motivations that drive Internet users to choose unauthorized copies of copyrighted works instead of their legal alternatives. Those factors were divided into two groups - economic and psycho-social, which are presented on the basis of numerous studies and their implications are discussed. (original abstract)
