Abstrakty

Badania ilościowe problematyki społeczeństwa informacyjnego to zagadnienie złożone, które jeszcze długo będzie tematem sporów i kontrowersji. Wieloletnia - i ciągle jeszcze nie zakończona - dyskusja, która poprzedziła stworzenie IDI wraz z renomą organizacji uczestniczących w pracach przygotowawczych i znaczeniem ITU pozwalają mieć nadzieję, że moment wypracowania rozwiązania powszechnie akceptowanego jest bliżej. IDI wydaje się wartościowym narzędziem, które warto popularyzować, zwłaszcza wobec medialnej popularności rozwiązań oferowanych przez firmy komercyjne dla celów marketingowych.(fragment tekstu)

This paper presents a short history of Information Society measuring tools and a new tool allowing such assessment, presented this year by ITU - ICT Development Index. The key results of this study are discussed with special emphasis on the position of Poland.(short original abstract)
