After discussing organization and the range of activities of brokers and agents enterprises in Poland and after characteristics of their general activities detailed data for the years 1965-1984 were presented. They concerned the level and the structure of employment, average wages, the number of serviced ships, the quantity of the freight tons of cargo, the value of services sold, productivity of labour, the value of fixed assets engaged and the technical development of labour.
