For many enterprises, internationalization plays a big role in their development process. To enter foreign market, global and multinational organizations must be able to manage and organize operations in different countries, with different currencies, time zones, suppliers and labor rules. To meet these challenges, organizations introduce and develop Global Information Systems. While the ERP, SCM and CRM systems lived to see numerous successful international implementations, the development of industry-specific global systems remains a challenge. Information system for Facility Management (FM), built by SESCOM company and then up-scaled from domestic to global IT tool, may act as a real-life example. However, lack of practical cases and research in this domain makes such a development process difficult. In this paper authors describe the data collection approach and research method to understand and improve the development process of Global Information System for Facility Management business domain. Wraz z rozwojem i ekspansją zagraniczną firmy, narzędzie to zaczęło ewoluować z systemu krajowego do globalnego. Brak praktycznych przykładów i prac badawczych w tym obszarze czyni ten proces trudnym w realizacji. W niniejszym artykule opisano projekt badań, których wykonanie pozwoli zrozumieć i usprawnić proces rozwoju globalnych systemów informatycznych w branży FM. (abstrakt oryginalny)
