Cause-elimination life tables in the form usually applied exaggerate possible improvement of mortality situation of the population in consequence of theoretical elimination of cause of death X because in estimation of their parameters there are also eliminated deaths from the natural causes, which in reality cannot be avoided. The second serious weakness of that kind of tables is that it is not taken into account that persons who (theoretically) avoided deaths From the cause X, are at the same risk of dying from other causes of deaths as the whole population. The proposed method shows the way of construction of the cause-elimination life tables without above-mentioned shortcomings. The results of the method proposed by the author present different pattern of mortality of the considered populations than the usually applied one. (fragment of text)
