Abstrakty

Zagraniczne inwestycje bezpośrednie jako forma międzynarodowego ruchu kapitałów długoterminowych wywierają istotny wpływ na rozliczne elementy gospodarki krajów zarówno eksportujących kapitał w tej formie (krajów macierzystych), jak, i importujących taki kapitał (krajów goszczących). Jednym z takich elementów jest zatrudnienie. Jego zmiany powodowane są, oczywiście, dynamiką szeregu czynników. Niemniej jednak udział zagranicznych inwestycji bezpośrednich w kształtowaniu zatrudnienia nie pozostaje bez znaczenia. Z uwagi na potrzebę zapewnienia przejrzystości rozważań wskazane wydaje się rozdzielne omówienie wpływu zagranicznych inwestycji bezpośrednich na zatrudnienie kraju macierzystego oraz oddziaływania tej formy ruchu kapitałowego na zatrudnienie kraju goszczącego. Foreign direct investments as a form of international movement of long-term capital exert a significant influence upon numerous elements of the economies of both the countries which export their capital in this form (home countries) and those which import such capital (host countries). One of those elements is employment. Among others, changes in employment are caused by the inflow and outflow of capital in the form of direct investments. Development of foreign affiliates of domestic firms generates employment in the home country. This is mainly reflected in: enterprises which supply foreign affiliates with technical equipment, spare parts, semi-finished products, and the like; economic sectors in which there occurred a considerable growth of exports caused by the expansion of multi-national firms; sector of services rendered for multi-national corporations. Foreign direct investments exercise an indirect influence upon employment in the host country. This is mainly reflected in activation of the local suppliers of raw materials and in creating new channels of distribution as well as networks of services rendered for the local branches of foreign firms.
