EN

Non-food products constitute a diverse range of commonly used products, which may pose various threats to human health or even life. Although this fact has been recognized quite long time ago and resulted in introduction legislation in European and other countries, it still requires special attention. The purpose of this paper is to present the actual problems related to non-food product safety assurance in the European and Polish markets, paying special attention to the major threats to human health caused by various kinds of non-food products, and to consumer awareness of these threats, as well as on the problem of product safety in general. A new product safety and market surveillance package in the European Union is characterised as well. (original abstract)

Produkty nieżywnościowe stanowią zróżnicowaną gamę produktów powszechnego użytku, które mogą stwarzać różne zagrożenia dla zdrowia, a nawet życia konsumenta. Chociaż fakt ten znany jest od dawna, i ma swoje odzwierciedlenie w prawodawstwie państw europejskich i innych, to nadal wymaga szczególnej uwagi. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przedstawienie aktualnych problemów związanych z zapewnieniem bezpieczeństwa produktów nieżywnościowych na rynku europejskim i polskim. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na rodzaj produktów stanowiących najczęstsze źródła zagrożeń oraz charakter tych zagrożeń. Przedstawiono także problemy związane z postrzeganiem bezpieczeństwa produktów przez konsumentów oraz zaprezentowano aktualnie obowiązujące oraz nowe rozwiązania prawne dotyczące bezpieczeństwa produktów nieżywnościowych i nadzoru rynku w Unii Europejskiej.
