Celem artykułu jest nakreślenie na podstawie ekstensywnego przeglądu literatury wyzwań ontologicznych, epistemologicznych i metodologicznych odnoszących się do szczegółowych kategorii zdolności organizacyjnych. Kluczowy wniosek przeprowadzonych rozważań sprowadza się do konstatacji, iż z jednej strony zdolności organizacyjne stanowią źródło wielu niespójności ontologicznych, epistemologicznych i metodologicznych, a z drugiej strony są one idiosynkratyczne, heterogeniczne, zdeterminowane dotychczasową ścieżką rozwoju i wypracowane na bazie wewnętrznych zasobów. Wydaje się, iż stanowi to przyczynę ciągłego zainteresowania tym zagadnieniem badaczy reprezentujących różne dziedziny i dyscypliny naukowe.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The aim of the paper is to emphasize ontological, epistemological, and methodological challenges concerning specific organizational capabilities. The method that has been used is an extensive studies review. The key finding is that on one hand, organizational capabilities constitute the source of a number of ontological, epistemological, and methodological discrepancies, however, on the other hand, they are idiosyncratic, heterogenic, embedded in path dependence and deployed on the basis of internal resources. Hence, it seems it is the reason why this phenomenon is still under interests of scholars from various research fields.(original abstract)
