Abstrakty
The view that inflation stimulates real output seems very attractive to government policymakers whenever recession occurs. The new classical economics perceive such countercyclical policy as ineffective due to rational expectations hypothesis, natural rate hypothesis, necessity of "fooling" agents and major imperfections of famous Phillips curve. This paper is an attempt of empirical output-inflation tradeoff examination. With data gathered from 16 nonuniform countries over the period 1995-2011, basing on Lucas model and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), relevant estimations and findings are being presented.
