In the literature on the subject, as well as broad public opinion it is often emphasised, especially after the recent experience of the crisis - that there is a strong need for introducing more strict regulations in the financial sector, including the involvement of financial investors in commodity markets. One of the most promising areas of improvement in this area is transparency in those markets, particularly in the aspect of involvement of financial investors whose presence in the market may take complex and changing organisational forms. To increase transparency in commodity markets the American Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC ) has recently undertaken efforts to introduce changes in the classification of their participants. These changes should later reflect the complex economic reality and as such ought to provide a better foundation for introducing appropriate solutions concerning market regulations. The aim of this study is to present the profile and characteristics of individual players in commodity markets in the light of evolution of classification of the above-mentioned market players (made by the CFTC ).(fragment of text)
W pierwszej części opracowania przedstawiono tradycyjne ujęcie podmiotów rynkowych z uwzględnieniem inwestorów finansowych, w kolejnej - będącej główną częścią opracowania - przeprowadzono analizę ewolucji ujęć klasyfikacyjnych i omówiono czynniki utrudniające uprowadzenie właściwej klasyfikacji uczestników rynku. W ostatniej części przedstawiono uwagi dotyczące sposobów reakcji poszczególnych podmiotów na sygnały rynkowe, nawiązując w ten sposób licznych opracowań z zakresu finansów behawioralnych.(abstrakt oryginalny)
