Rate of Growth of the e-Commerce Sector in Poland in Years 2010-2016 : Comparative Analysis

Abstrakty
Celem postawionym przed artykułem jest weryfikacja pozytywnego stanu sektora e-commerce w Polsce poprzez analizę dynamiki liczby firm w sektorze handlu internetowego, handlu tradycyjnego oraz ogółu wszystkich zarejestrowanych firm, jak również analizę korelacji miedzy zmianą liczby przedsiębiorstw w sektorze e-commerce a szacowaną dynamiką wzrostu obrotów handlu internetowego. Tak skonstruowany cel odnosi się do badań o charakterze replikacyjnym.
Metody badawcze zastosowane w opracowaniu obejmują krytyczną analizę dokumentacji oraz metody analizy statystycznej. Krytyczna analiza dokumentacji dotyczy przeglądu literatury przedmiotu (e-commerce, przedsiębiorczość). Wśród zastosowanych metod analizy statystycznej znalazły się metody statystyki opisowej, analizy dynamiki zjawisk oraz analizy związków. Na koniec warto nadmienić, iż przedmiotem badań jest detaliczny handel internetowym (B2C), a więc odbywający się między przedsiębiorstwami a klientem detalicznym. (fragment tekstu)

The business sector of e-commerce is being shown as one of the most dynamic in the economy. The author decided to verify this positive image of the e-commerce sector in Poland by analyzing statistical data on the change in the number of enterprises in the years 2010-2016.
The aim of the paper is to verify the positive state of e-commerce sector in Poland by analyzing the dynamics of the number of companies in the e-commerce sector, traditional trade and the total number of all registered companies, as well as an analysis of the correlation between the change in the number of companies in the sector of e-commerce and the estimated growth rate of turnover of e-commerce businesses.
Conducted analyses confirmed that the e-commerce sector was very dynamic. For the analyzed sector mid-term rate of change in years 2010-2016 is taking out +2.41%, towards +0.28% for all enterprises and +0.045% for the traditional trade. The correlation analysis also indicated a strong relationship between the dynamics of growth companies and the turnover volume. (original abstract)
