Abstrakty
The article contains an overview of the reforms of healthcare systems in the Nordic States (Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden), the characteristic feature of which was broadly-understood recentralization. This notion primarily encompasses institutional law transformation involving the increase in the authority of the central government administration at the expense of territorial self-government at local or regional level. It also applies to progressive territorial consolidation in those states through the strengthening of regional self-government and the reduction in the number of territorial self-government units at local and regional level. The author notes that these phenomena led to a substantial transformation of the healthcare systems in the Nordic states and can also affect the directions of the reforms in other European countries.
