Abstrakty

Europejskie Stowarzyszenie Rachunkowości (European Accounting Association - EAA), założone w 1977 roku, jest obecnie organizacją liczącą prawie 2300 członków z 70 różnych krajów z Europy i innych kontynentów. Realizuje ono coraz pełniej intencje jego założycieli, aby EAA stało się centralnym punktem komunikowania się jego członków mieszkających w Europie i poza jej granicami. Celem artykułu jest syntetyczna prezentacja głównych działań realizowanych ostatnio przez to Stowarzyszenie, zwłaszcza na rzecz promocji młodych badaczy w dziedzinie rachunkowości, a także zarys tematyki sympozjów i wskazanie zagadnień uwzględnionych w referatach wygłoszonych na sesjach i forach badawczych podczas 40. Dorocznego Kongresu EAA, który odbył się w Walencji (Hiszpania) w dniach 10-12 maja 2017 roku. Wzięło w nim udział około 1500 uczestników. Program naukowy 40. Kongresu EAA obejmował sesję plenarną, sesję panelową, 9 sympozjów oraz 167 sesji równoległych i 99 forów badawczych, na których wygłoszono 947 referatów w 12 grupach tematycznych z zakresu rachunkowości. The European Accounting Association (EAA), founded in 1977, is currently an organization of almost 2300 members from 70 different countries in Europe and other continents. The Association realizes the intentions of its founders more and more, so the EAA has become the focal point for communications for its member residing in Europe and abroad. The aim of this paper is to synthesize the main activities recently implemented by the EAA, especially for the promotion of young researchers in the field of accounting, as well as to outline the topics of the symposia and indicate the selected issues addressed in papers presented at the sessions and research fora at the 40th EAA Annual Congress, which took place in Valencia (Spain) on 10-12 May 2017. The Congress was attended by about 1500 participants. The scientific program of the Congress included the plenary session, a panel session, 9 symposia, 167 parallel sessions, and 99 research forum sessions in which 947 papers were presented.
