Abstrakty
Ponadto wykazano różnice w skali adaptacji w wymiarze obsługi, finansowo-logistycznym i technicznym. Podsumowaniem rozważań są wnioski dotyczące natury relacji postrzeganej przez pryzmat asymetrii jej struktury wynikającej z odmiennego podejścia podmiotów do istoty i zakresu wzajemnej adaptacji. This paper refers mainly to the achievements of relational school of management, focusing on the business-to-business relationships. The aim of the discussion is to confront approaches of two sides of business relationship (supplier and purchaser) to adaptation, which is treated as a process that is taking place within the framework of their relationship. The paper presents the role of adaptation processes in the relationship and identifies the subjective and objective nature of adaptation. On this basis the research problem was defined and verified empirically. The research presented in that paper refers to relationships with key buyers and suppliers. Data was gathered among more than 250 manufacturing companies acting as suppliers or buyers. The results show an asymmetry in the sense attributed to adaptation - it is rated as important by suppliers rather than buyers, but the two sides consider it the most important process of a relationship. In addition, it demonstrated the differences in scale of dimensions of adaptation: operational, financial/logistical and technical. The paper is summarized by discussion of the nature of supplier-purchaser relationship perceived through the prism of the asymmetry of its structure resulting from the different approach to the nature and scope of mutual adaptation.
