The aim of the research was to investigate if consumers perceived organic production logo certification as a value-added component of apples and bananas. The so-called choice experiment (CE) was conducted by modelling consumer preferences with the willingness to pay a certain price (WTP). Primary data were collected with the use of CAWI method among 286 city inhabitants of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. It was shown that 22% of apple buyers and 30% of banana consumers perceived products with the Euro Leaf logo as the most desirable among all alternatives. Half of each group was willing to pay a higher price for organic products. Consumers' interest in certification, pre-research familiarity with the Euro Leaf logo and good income situation had a positive influence on the WTP ratio. Consumers who buy organic products even with higher prices behave accordingly to sustainable consumption recommendations. (original abstract)
