Abstrakty

The concept of global public goods (GPG) has garnered the attention of international relations experts and economists for quite some time as a potential response to multiple global problems and transboarder challenges of the contemporary world. Nevertheless, whereas the academic disource in this field rapidly advances, international community struggles to embrace production, financing and providing GPG in a satisfactory manner. This article, departing from definitional problems and discrepencies regarding interpretation of GPG in the literature, seeks to answer the following questions: why there is a need for GPG in the world in the first place and what theoretical features of GPG explain their underprovision, why financing GPG is so difficult, what practical dilemmas undeprin demand and preferences for GPG and lastly - what actors in international relations possess atributes and capacity needed to effectively provide GPG.(original abstract)
