Development of TSL sector (Transport-Shipping-Logistics) in Poland is based mostly on road transport, whose share in shipment transport amounted in 2015 to 1.500 million tons, which constitutes 84% in relation to goods transport in total. Road transport systems of the logistics operators using means of transport and road infrastructure constitute the main source of CO2 emission and other pollutants. Adoption of particular structure of road transport systems determines the pollutants amount associated with transfer of shipment in supply chain. The carried out simulations for two types of road transport systems - centralized and decentralized - of one of the European logistics operators operating in Poland indicate differences in emission of pollutants depending on the adopted method for supply chain organization. The legal analysis of the documents as regards European and national law points out future changes in road transport systems aimed at creation of sustainable road transport systems.(original abstract)
