Much attention in occupational burnout is paid to organizational and individual factors in research. However, there are still relatively few studies on the relationships between motivation and burnout. Today's competitive market contributes to increasingly strong rivalry both between organizations and between employees. The latter are expected to display increasing effort, engagement, and sustained motivation aimed at achieving set goals. The conducted study, covering employees of corporate organizations (N=97), confirmed the protective role of intrinsic motivation as understood by SDT. Its nature, in this case, is that of a resource. Research has also shown that the factor that is most conducive to burnout is amotivation, which remains moderately strongly related to all the dimensions of burnout. Regression analysis has confirmed that only motivational variables are significant predictors of burnout, while neither demographic nor organizational variables predict it. (original abstract)
