Abstrakty
Perspektywa kredytodawcy w bankowości relacyjnej stanowi obszar słabiej rozpoznany niż ma to miejsce w przypadku kredytobiorcy. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi podsumowanie dotychczasowych ustaleń literatury w kwestiach potencjalnych korzyści i zagrożeń wynikających z tej formy współpracy pomiędzy bankami i przedsiębiorstwami, właśnie z perspektywy strony pożyczającej. Z jednej strony możliwość ograniczenia zjawiska asymetrii informacji może przyczyniać się do np. niższych kosztów screeningu i monitoringu klienta, z drugiej strony istnieje ryzyko wystąpienia tzw. miękkiego ograniczenia budżetowego. EN
A lender's perspective on relationship banking remains less explored than it is in case of a borrowing side. This paper constitutes a summary of the existing literature regarding potential benefits and risks arising from this form of cooperation between banks and enterprises, considering the lender's perspective. On the one hand, there is an opportunity to reduce the information asymmetry phenomenon that may result in e.g. lowered costs of screening and monitoring. On the other hand, there exists risk of occurrence of the so-called soft budget constraint. (original abstract)
