Second decade of the twenty-first century causes numerous questions about the international relationships and direction of civilization changes. Globalization through the tools of its impact makes transformations assessment of which is not unambiguous. Emerging doubts towards the shape and intensity of civilizational changes impose formulating the following research objectives: 1. characteristics of the major contradictions and controversies arising as a result of the dissemination of globalization; 2. defining the role of financial markets in economic crises, and - long-term - in movements of the centers of civilization; 3. formulation of cultural conditions of global and civilizational reconfiguration. Research on the multidisciplinary nature were performed on the basis of critical review of the current literature and analysis of the available international statistics. The results of conducted studies and analyzes can be reduced to the following conclusions: • the practice of modernity manifests itself in the functioning of the various spheres of reality with stamped axiological hallmark that identifies various civilizations and cultures; • present day received and expressed through civilizations and cultures is verified in the last instance by the practice of everyday life; needs and interests, good and evil, rationality and efficiency of markets, but also irrationality and complexity that are equal parameters of interpretation and understanding economic and financial phenomena; • freedom of capital flow and the extremely rapid growth of the financial sector created a new quality in functioning of the world; density and complexity of the internal / domestic / external and international relations brought attention to the determinants and spreading effects of globalization; it turned out that a fair attempts to interpret this phenomenon and many aspects of modernity cannot ignore the significant role of the axiological dimension; • times of crises, threats, social exclusion and deepening distances in terms of wealth of strata and social groups enhance the interest in going off the path that leads mankind toward the abyss; dominate randomness, uncertainty, turmoil, chaos; abound events difficult to explain, unclear, imprecise phenomenon; existing world order is increasingly seen as a disorder, according to recently disseminated terminology - is fragile; • the economic crisis of 2007-2008 and subsequent years have shown any deficiencies of so called mainstream economics and necessity to supplement the "hard" elements of modern economics with its behavioral aspects, socio-political and axiological, which interpret and reinterpret what was previously known as indisputable; • financial markets are becoming a casino; continuous, exponential growth of information drives the transactions and orders are entered into the system and executed without interruption; the effect of the complexity and interdependence of relationships deepens the leverage mechanism, which is directly linked to the issue of liquidity, which is the driving force of derivative instruments; • settlements in the world scale are becoming necessary; more frequently there is expressed the need to achieve consensus on better regulation of financial markets, taking into account the development of product innovations; also taking into account the Islamic banking, which the development and significance cannot be underestimated.(original abstract)
Druga dekada XXI wieku wywołuje liczne pytania o wzajemne relacje międzynarodowe i kierunek zmian cywilizacyjnych.
