Biological Type as a Predictor Explaining the Saving Attitudes of Households in Poland
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
W artykule zaprezentowano część wyników badania dotyczącego oszczędności i inwestycji gospodarstw domowych w Polsce. Gospodarstwa z dziećmi w porównaniu z podmiotami bezdzietnymi bardziej preferują oszczędzanie w ramach nieruchomości (21% versus 10%), funduszy inwestycyjnych zwykłych i hedge (21% versus 9%), polis ubezpieczeniowych (18% versus 12%). The article presents some of the results of the research on savings and investment of households in Poland. In particular, the characteristics of the savings measures undertaken by households according to the biological type, taking into account the division into households with children and without children, are presented. Households with children, compared to childless entities, prefer to save on real estate (21% versus 10%), ordinary investment funds and hedge (21% versus 9%), and insurance policies (18% versus 12%). On the other hand, households without children prefer to save in the form of avista accounts (20% versus 15%), cash kept at home (23% versus 19%), currencies (12% versus 6%). The results also show that both households with no children and those with children accumulate surplus for the same purposes, although their importance is clearly different. Among other observed regularities, it should be noted that with a change in the biological type of a farm (in terms of transition from the phase without children to the phase with children), the tendency to save as part of investing funds in non-financial assets (increase by 7 pp) and on current expenses (increase by 4 pp).
