Pension System Reform and Economic Security : a Simulation Analysis

Abstrakty

The main aim of this article is to present the possible effects of pension system reform, particularly its impact on the economic security of individuals and the state in view of the ongoing process of population ageing. A secondary aim is to indicate that the new pension system of 1999 should not be considered as the final and ultimate solution that will improve the solvency of one of the most important institutions of the state. On the contrary, it should be emphasised that the reform is just a starting point for a number of alterations and modifications that will also reflect demographic and economic processes, which are constant as well as highly unpredictable in their impact.
