W coraz większym stopniu menedżerowie uświadamiają sobie, iż nastąpiło fundamentalne przewartościowanie orientacji w zarządzaniu, w zakresie celów operacji i procesów funkcjonowania.
Objective: The objective of the article is to draw upon the contingency theory to assess the mediating effects of broad-scope management accounting systems (MAS) on the relationship between market orientation and performance in the context of small businesses. Research Design & Methods: Data was collected from 159 small businesses located in Cantho city in Vietnam. The partial least squares structural equation modelling was used to assess the research model. Findings: The results reveal that broad-scope MAS fully mediates the link between market orientation and performance. Implications & Recommendations: The owners of small businesses located in Cantho city should have a sophisticated MAS design like broad-scope MAS to find performance implication when these businesses follow the market-oriented approach. Contribution & Value Added: This study contributes to the research interface between marketing and accounting by advancing our knowledge of the impact of the MAS design on the relationship between market orientation and performance. It provides exploratory evidence of the crucial role of the sophisticated the MAS design in the performance of small businesses. It sheds light on the influencing role of organisational culture on the MAS design by assessing the Cartesian contingency fit between culture and the MAS design on performance. (original abstract)
Przedsiębiorstwa stale poszukują sposobów tworzenia i utrzymywania przewagi konkurencyjnej. XX w.

Materiał i metody: zostały wysłane ankiety do losowo wybranej grupy.
Wśród stosowanych metod przeważają konsultacje i monitorowanie otoczenia. Natomiast badania marketingowe są najmniej popularną metodą gromadzenia informacji. Wykazano, że badania turystów i inwestorów prowadzi więcej samorządów o charakterze miejskim. Te powiaty i gminy z reguły mają ponadto większe urzędy, lepiej wykształcone kadry marketingowe oraz lepsze wyniki działalności niż ośrodki nieprowadzące badań.(abstrakt oryginalny)
(fragment tekstu)
The current explanation of the impact of market orientation on company performance is based on the search for competitive advantage, understood as offering the greatest value to customers. However, the development of economic thought has led to the understanding that it is the economic value that a company creates through its product that forms the basis for gaining competitive advantage. Therefore, it was deemed necessary to revise the mechanism of how market orientation affects company performance, aiming to develop a conceptual model of this impact. To achieve this goal, a substantive analysis of the phenomenon under study was performed. The result of the work is a model indicating that the impact of market orientation on company performance is complex, as it involves mediating factors such as benefits perceived by customers from using the product, product costs, economic value, and customer surplus.(original abstract)
The aim of the study is to estimate the impact of the direction of window exposure on the unit price of an apartment using econometric methods. The data from the secondary market concerning transactions involving dwellings in G-15 buildings constructed using prefabricated technology in the 1960-70s were used. The study was conducted on data from 2015-2024 from 58 similar buildings located in Szczecin (Poland), where the exposure of the windows of the apartments was to the east or west. The results of the study are intended to capture certain regularities that will give insight into how the exposure of the apartment's windows to a given direction of the world influenced prices. The survey can help determine whether, given a choice between east-facing or west-facing windows of an apartment, one side of the world is better perceived by real estate market participants. The research hypothesis that east-facing windows increase the unit price of apartments is verified based on the observation of the secondary market for two-room apartments in buildings with exposure to two sides of the world (east and west). Differences between east and west exposure were tested. The research doesn't confirm that eastern exposure is associated with higher dwelling prices. (original abstract)

Content available remote Efektywność badań marketingowych - rozważania nad metodologią pomiaru
75%
Objective: This article aims to augment the literature on entrepreneurial business primarily by assessing how the synergies between international orientation (IO) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) promote the overall performance of Portuguese exporting companies after controlling for the effect of several firm and country characteristics commonly cited in the literature.Research Design & Methods: The study considers the impact on overall firm performance of aggregated and in-dividual dimensions of EO and IO using survey data collected from 341 companies through online questionnaires in 2015. We validated the proposed hypotheses using covariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM).Findings: We found three main relationships: (1) the positive impact of EO on firm performance is greater than the influences through the IO pathway; (2) the effect of firm innovativeness is noticeably higher than the proactiveness and risk-taking components of EO; and (3) IO positively and significantly reinforces the relationship between EO and firm performance.Implications & Recommendations: Taken together, the results indicate that innovations to improve the international positioning of Portuguese exporters will make the greatest contribution to their overall performance. Thus, it is recommended that managers adopt governance structures that motivate and reward employees with novel ideas on how to foster penetration into new overseas markets.Contribution & Value Added: This study fills the gap in the literature by emphasising: (1) the importance of combining IO with EO to boost the overall performance of risk-averse Portuguese exporters, and (2) the differential effects of the several EO dimensions on IO and overall firm performance. Objective: The article aims to investigate the influence of strategic orientation (specifically market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and digital orientation) on small and medium-sized enterprises' performance during the COVID-19 pandemic.Research Design & Methods: We surveyed 265 small and medium-sized enterprises and employed structural equation modelling (SEM) to test the hypotheses developed.Findings: Research results show that during the COVID-19 pandemic, while market orientation and digital orientation had a direct positive impact on business performance (ß= 0.230, p < 0.05 and ß= 0.236, p < 0.05, respectively), entrepreneurial orientation did not (ß= -0.038 and p > 0.05). Moreover, competitive advantage mediated the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (indirect effect = 0.102) as well as market orientation and business performance (indirect effect = 0.046). However, this did not apply to the indirect relationship between digital orientation and performance. Finally, competitive intensity positively moderated the influences of market orientation and digital orientation on business performance.Implications & Recommendations: Based on the research findings, the study has provided SMEs with some implications to assist them in improving business performance. These consisted of the concentration oncustomers, competitors, and the development of an internal management information system. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the understanding and application of digital orientation were essential. The competitive advantage of SMEs maximises when the enterprise orients toward entrepreneurial activities.Contribution & Value Added: Our study contributes to the strategic management of SMEs by investigating the influences of strategic orientation on business performance. The study also expands its scope by examining the mediating and moderating role of competitive advantage and competitive intensity, respectively. (original abstract)

Content available remote Model of Market Orientation of High-tech Firms in the Czech Republic
75%
This article will contribute to better understanding of the phenomenon of market orientation and measurement of market orientation on the Czech market. The primary aim of this paper is to describe a concept of market orientation and to develop a modified model of market orientation (MMOM). The target group of respondents is mainly managers (N=328) of high-tech companies. Reached respondents were asked to fill in a questionnaire prepared on a website in digital form. A seven-point Likert type scale ranging from 1 (absolutely disagree) to 7 (absolutely agree) were used to help the respondents express their opinion. The main method of statistical analysis is exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. This analysis supported the hypothesis about four-factor structure. Four dimensions (Customer Intelligence Generation, Competitor Intelligence Generation, Intelligence Dissemination & Integration and Responsiveness to Market Intelligence) were found. (fragment tekstu)
Objective: The main objective of the article is to analyse the relationship between entrepreneurs' profiles and their market orientation, i.e. to compare two groups of entrepreneurs - opportunity entrepreneurs and necessity entrepreneurs - to identify which group is international-export oriented. Research Design & Methods: Supported by questionnaires, the probit model is the method used to analyse 200 enterprises that operate in Kosovo as both export and non-export firms.Findings: The main findings confirm that there is a relationship between the type of entrepreneur and market orientation; necessity entrepreneurs are less oriented towards international markets, while opportunity entrepreneurs are more focused on international markets.Implications & Recommendations: Among the main implications is one that shows entrepreneur type matters for market orientation. Therefore, the condition of trade liberalisation only is insufficient for the EU and international market orientation of entrepreneurs. In consideration of this fact, the main recommendation is to internally improve entrepreneurs' capability to exploit the EU and international markets in the future. Contribution & Value Added: The main contribution of this study is the demonstration of a link between the characteristics of entrepreneurs with entrepreneurs' market orientation; especially in the Western Balkans, a region characterised by long transitions, political tensions along with economic and institutional challenges. The added value of this research is the comparison of entrepreneurs on local markets with entrepreneurs on international markets based on their characteristics. (original abstract)
Objective: This study addresses significant gaps in the existing literature, which shows mixed results on the relationship between international market orientation and international performance. Moreover, the literature needs more research on the mediating role of eco-friendly practices in this dynamic. The study aims to rigorously examine both the direct and indirect effects of this orientation on performance, focusing on the exporting and manufacturing of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam to clarify these complex interactions.Research Design & Methods: The online survey comprised 319 exporting and manufacturing SMEs. Partial least square structure equation modelling served to examine the data.Findings: The findings reveal that adopting an international market orientation improves the international performance of those SMEs. Furthermore, this adoption drives the adoption of eco-friendly practices that lead to high international performance.Implications & Recommendations: This study implies that SMEs in the Vietnamese export sectors succeed in international markets by adopting an international market orientation. Besides, those SMEs benefit from this orientation, because it offers insight into environmental demands in the international markets. As such, SMEs adopt eco-friendly practices to offer products that meet those demands and gain success.Contribution & Value Added: This study advances the literature by assessing the mixed result of international market orientation, i.e. the international performance association within Vietnamese exporting and manufacturing SMEs. It confirms that international market-oriented firms tend to embrace eco-friendly practices like larger firms. It demonstrates that emerging-market SMEs can succeed internationally by adopting eco-friendly practices. It clarifies the mechanism by which international market orientation improves international performance. (original abstract)
The purpose of the paper is to expand the knowledge about interfunctional coordination (IFC). The term IFC has been used for 50 years and it extends to many branches. The most popular ones are in marketing, logistics and IT management. The purpose of IFC is to develop collaboration between the diverse departments within an organization. The goal of the paper is to describe the relationship between IFC on the B2B market, especially if IFC in one company can influence customer success in business. The research was undertaken with companies producing electronic components and electrical equipment in the region of South Moravia in the Czech Republic. 60 SME have answered the questionnaire. The Spearman's rank correlation test was used to analyse the influence of IFC of companies on the success of their customers. The results show that the implementation of IFC in a company has a positive relationship on the success of its customers.(original abstract)
W sposób szczególny brakuje informacji ugruntowanej teoretycznie w odniesieniu do problematyki skuteczności badań marketingowych, powiązanej bezpośrednio z orientacją rynkową i koncepcją organizacji uczącej się.
