The literature provides numerous examples of either rich or multi-criteria Vehicle Routing Problems (VRPs). Practitioners claim, however, that real-life problems need effective methods for VRPs which are both rich and multiobjective. In the paper we investigate whether such problems can be efficiently handled by standard metaheuristics - genetic algorithms. The answer is affirmative. Additionally, the analysis conducted supports the thesis that it is purposeful to adjust components of metaheuristics so that they take advantage of the multiobjective nature of the problems they solve. This paper deals with the problem of the derivation of lower and upper approximations of an efficient element set. We consider the case where upper approximations cannot be derived as criteria mapping images of infeasible variants.(original abstract)
We devote this paper to study of multiobjective programming problems with interval valued objective functions. For this, we consider two order relations LU and LS on the set of all closed intervals and propose several concepts of Pareto optimal solutions and generalized convexity. Based on generalized convexity (viz. LU and LS-pseudoconvexity) and generalized differentiability (viz. gH-differentiablity) of interval valued functions, the KKT optimality conditions for aforesaid problems are obtained. The theoretical development is illustrated by suitable examples. (original abstract)
This paper presents a multi-criteria optimization approach for modeling the negotiation process. The negotiation process is modeled as a special multi-criteria problem. The method of finding solutions involves a process of the interactive selection of certain proposals. The parties submit proposals concerning the subjects of the negotiations; these proposals constitute the parameters of the multi-criteria optimization problem. Selecting the solutions is accomplished by solving the optimization problem using the parameters that define the aspirations of each party to the negotiations. Finally, the solutions reached by the parties are evaluated.(original abstract)
The eigenproblem solution of the multi-domain efficient allocation is identified as a direct generalization of the classical Neyman-Tchuprov optimal allocation in stratified SRSWOR. This is achieved through analysis of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a suitable population-based matrix D. Such a solution is an analytical companion to NLP approaches, which are often used in applications, see, e.g. Choudhry, Rao and Hidiroglou (2012). In this paper we are interested rather in the structure of the optimal allocation vector and relative variance than in such purely numerical tools (although the eigenproblem solution provides also numerical solutions, see, e.g. Wesołowski and Wieczorkowski (2017)). The domain-wise optimal allocation and the respective optimal variance of the estimator are determined by the unique direction (defined in terms of the positive eigenvector of matrix D) in the space I , where I is the number of domains in the population. A fuzzy preference matrix is the result of pairwise comparison - a powerful method in multi-criteria optimization. When comparing two elements, the decision maker assigns a value between 0 and 1 to any pair of alternatives representing the element of the fuzzy preference matrix. Here, we investigate relations between transitivity and consistency of fuzzy preference matrices and multiplicative preference ones. The results obtained are applied to decision situations where some elements of the fuzzy preference matrix are missing. We propose a new method for completing the fuzzy preference matrix with missing elements called the extension of the fuzzy preference matrix and investigate an important particular case of the fuzzy preference matrix with missing elements. Next, using the eigenvector of the transformed matrix we obtain the corresponding priority vector. Illustrative numerical examples are supplied. (original abstract)

This article proposes a technique of facilitating life-long financial planning for a household by finding the optimal match between systematic investment products and multiple financial goals of different realization terms and magnitudes. This is a multi-criteria optimization. One of the objectives is compliance between the expected term structure of cumulated net cash flow throughout the life cycle of the household with its life-length risk aversion and bequest motive. The second is financial liquidity in all periods under expected values of all stochastic factors. The third is minimization of net cash flow volatility. The fourth is minimization of costs of the investment plan combination. The result is a set of systematic-investment programs with accompanying information which programs are destined to cover which financial goal. Payoffs of one program may be used to cover more than one goal and the order may be other than sequential. An original goal function, constructed to suit conditions and assumptions of the proposed household financial plan model, is presented as an optimization procedure. (original abstract)
Zadania optymalizacyjne należące do klasy tzw.: nieliniowych zadań optymalizacji ilorazowej, rozpatrywanych w niniejszym opracowaniu mogą się pojawiać w naturalny sposób np. w zastosowaniach tzw. koncepcji maksymalnej efektywności w optymalizacji wielokryterialnej, gdy ocena pewnej działalności gospodarczej dokonywana jest na podstawie dwóch kryteriów, a mianowicie wyników uzyskiwanych w rezultacie prowadzenia rozpatrywanej działalności gospodarczej, którą wyraża pewna nieliniowa funkcja kryterium W(X) oraz nakładów generowanych w rezultacie prowadzenia rozpatrywanej działalności gospodarczej, którą wyraża nieliniowa funkcja kryterium N(X). Dwukryterialny problem optymalizacyjny polega wtedy na poszukiwaniu rozwiązań, które jednocześnie maksymalizują nieliniową funkcję kryterium W(X) oraz minimalizują nieliniową funkcję kryterium N(X) na zbiorze rozwiązań dopuszczalnych D. Typowa, stosowana w takich przypadkach tzw. koncepcja maksymalnej efektywności w optymalizacji wielokryterialnej zakłada efektywną możliwość transformacji wielu kryteriów na jedno metakryterium wyrażające globalną efektywność jako szczególny rodzaj użyteczności. Content available remote Multi-Criteria Model for Determining Order Size
100%
A multi-criteria model for determining the order size for materials used in production has been presented. It was assumed that the consumption rate of each material is a random variable with a known probability distribution. Using such a model, in which the purchase cost of materials ordered is limited, three criteria were considered: order size, probability of a lack of materials in the production process, and deviations in the order size from the consumption rate in past periods. Based on an example, it has been shown how to use the model to determine the order sizes for polyurethane adhesive and wood in a hard-coal mine. (original abstract)
W pracy przedstawiono metodę projektowania odcinków trasy kolejowej położonych w łuku, dostosowaną do techniki mobilnych pomiarów satelitarnych. Rozwiązanie problemu projektowego wykorzystuje zapis matematyczny i polega na wyznaczeniu uniwersalnych równań opisujących całość układu geometrycznego. Odbywa się to sekwencyjnie, obejmując kolejne fragmenty tegoż układu. Procedura projektowania ma charakter uniwersalny, gdyż w ogólnym przypadku obejmuje wprowadzenie do układu geometrycznego dwóch łuków kołowych o różnym promieniu, czyli zastosowanie łuku koszowego; stwarza też możliwość zróżnicowania rodzaju i długości stosowanych krzywych przejściowych. Algorytm obliczeniowy zaimplementowano w opracowanym programie komputerowym.
Charakterystyka rzeczywistej linii technologicznej do produkcji wyrobów włókno-cementowych została wykorzystana do przeprowadzenia symulacji i oceny możliwości użycia algorytmu genetycznego zamiast rozproszonego systemu sterowania stosowanego obecnie.
One of the most important phases in project management is planning. During this phase tasks are identified and scheduled. A schedule brings information on how tasks should be planned over time during the realization phase of the project. That is why scheduling is a critical issue in project management. The main project scheduling techniques are CPM and PERT. They deliver the schedule with the optimal project finish time and ensure the control of resource usage. In real-life applications the schedule should optimize not only the project finish time but also resource usage and cash flows. In research on the project scheduling problem the mathematical models are used to build an optimal project schedule. Frequently used are one-objective mathematical models for project scheduling. Few papers deal with the multiple objective project scheduling problem. Constraints and objectives in project scheduling are determined by three main issues: time, resource and costs, but only few papers consider all of them. A zero-one programming formulation has been applied to solve a multiple criteria project scheduling problem in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to present the multiple criteria project scheduling problem with three objectives: project delay minimization, resource usage in each period of time minimization and NPV maximization. The paper deals with analysis of incentive compatible multicriteria decisions within a computer-based multiagent framework. This general question is discussed on an example of a market decision problem, where a producer is introducing a product and some buyers are considering the purchase of the product. Decisions of the producer and buyers are multicriterial. Each of the buyers is seeking a product variant according to his own preferences. The producer decides which variant of the product is introduced to the market. In order to incentivize the decisions, one of his criteria takes into account an aggregated satisfaction of the buyers. A multiagent computer-based system has been constructed for supporting mulicriteria analysis made by buyers and by the producer. Selected results of an interactive session made with use of the system are presented and analyzed. (original abstract)
The paper presents a modeling approach for productivity comparison of Central European firms. The approach is based on Data Envelopment Analysis and Analytic Network Process. The proposed model consists of two basic parts. The first one estimates the importance of branches within the countries and the second one evaluates the performance of the firms within branches. The results of both parts are synthesized and the productivity of the countries is estimated. The evaluation is based on the data set resulting from a survey among firms from selected industries.(original abstract)
The paper presents a stochastic approach to strategic optimization of public debt management in Poland, aimed at minimization of two criterions: servicing costs of the debt and costs resulting from stochastic budgetary constraints. The main results comprise: formulation of the problem, determination of necessary components (parameters, forecasts, etc.) and the method of problem solution. The results show the complexity of the problem and gains from its implementation (budgetary savings). The paper is based on research conducted in Polish Ministry of Finance [6].(original abstract)

(fragment tekstu)
