Czego najczęściej brakuje współczesnym pracownikom, którzy snują marzenia o porzuceniu pracy i wyjeździe w poszukiwaniu nowego życia np. w Bieszczadach?

(fragment tekstu)
The expected competencies of accountants have expanded over the years. No longer can accountants be simply technically proficient. They are now expected to possess interpersonal and intrapersonal skills which are major components of Emotional Intelligence (EI). Accounting professors and practitioners were surveyed to determine their perception of the need for accountants to possess EI skills. This research found that academicians did not consider EI skills to be as important as technical skills and do not incorporate training in EI skills into their courses. In contrast, this research found that practitioners considered EI skills to be more important than academicians. There were significant differences between the two groups in the mean rating of skills and statements related to EI indicating a gap between what is the perceived importance of these skills in practice versus the perceived importance of these skills in academia. The findings of this research suggests that accounting professors should give more thought to including EI skill development exercises in their courses. (original abstract)
10 lutego br. zmarł Frank Farrelly, nazywany ojcem terapii prowokatywnej, dziadkiem coachingu prowokatywnego.
Background. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the entire world, has driven countries into economic, social, and political uncertainty and has forced quite significant changes, especially in areas such as health, work, education, and social security. Social changes that are occurring as a result of the crisis include the restructuring of businesses and working styles and the shaping of work life along the new-normal axis. Many psychosocial risks such as conflict management, organisational relationships, communications problems, job satisfaction, stress, productivity, and performance are being redefined as the nature of jobs, job descriptions, employee competence, and ways of working are being recreated for a virtual environment. The importance of concepts related to work psychology such as loneliness, cyberloafing, digital mobbing, emotional resilience, psychological resilience, compassion, self-compassion, conscious awareness, design of habits, coping with loneliness, and coping with crisis is becoming apparent. Research aims. The aim of this study is to examine cyberloafing and loneliness with its changing structure in terms of work psychology. In addition, the researchers and their results on cyberloafing and loneliness are discussed in terms of both sociodemographic factors and some variables of work life. Methodology. The research method of critical analysis of literature on the subject of cyberloafing and loneliness was applied in this study. Common findings of secondary research were used in terms of work psychology. Findings. The concepts of loneliness and cyberloafing, which have been evaluated in relation to different sociodemographic and work-life factors and whose mutual relations have been the subject of a very limited number of studies, are examined more intensively in the context of personal and organisational factors applicable to the technology-intensive future. A significant part amongst various factors causing fear in modern people is related to professional work. First, a person fears that they will not be employed, then that they will not meet the requirements, and eventually that they will be dismissed. In contemporary organizations, often called knowledge organizations, competence plays a special role in alleviation of the sense of fear. (original abstract)
This book discusses the nature of work-related stress interventions chiefly from the viewpoint of management sciences, but also from the perspective of psychology, economics, and health sciences. The main focus is placed on providing cost- and resource-effective methods for the management of work-related stress interventions in organizations. The first part of the publication presents the notions of general stress and work-related stress in the context of both classical and modern approaches for the determination of stress sources in organizations. Consequences of stress are also discussed, with the emphasis on the economic effects of stress - or costs - borne by individuals, organizations, and the society. Methods for dealing with stress on an individual level are presented, together with an overview of instruments useful for diagnosing work-related stress in organizations. The book also presents an evaluation of the available findings related to studies of work-related stress conducted by EU Member States, along with an assessment of modern legislative recommendations for employers issued by the European Commission and national administration bodies with the aim of reducing work- -related stress. The next section of the book is devoted to the detailed examination of the available stress intervention methods, and to the definition of their placement within the broader framework of human resource management activities. Levels of qualifications and entitlements of persons responsible for the implementation of work-related stress interventions in organizations are also discussed. The last section of the theoretical segment of the publication presents models for the management of work-related stress interventions, along with an overview of the available approaches and methods for the evaluation of their effectiveness (degree, to which the intended objective has been met) and efficiency (ratio of the cost of the intervention to a relevant measure of its effect). The empirical part of the book consists of three separate research endeavours. The first part of research provides a review of the degree and the quality of work- -related stress interventions in Polish organizations. Findings collected from a sample of more than 400 organizations suggest that only ca. 30% of organizations in Poland (mostly large enterprises) have some experience with effective management of stress interventions, mostly in the form of multimodal interventions. At the same time, the organizations were not too keen on examining such intervention programs in terms of their effectiveness or efficiency. The second phase of research was devoted to the evaluation of the degree and the effects of work-related stress. Based on responses from a base of 1500 persons employed in the mining industry, it may be concluded that the majority of employees report their work-related stress to be at moderate to low levels. At the same time, as suggested by the evaluations of their reported well-being against the common symptoms of stress, more than 70% of the respondents displayed some form of health indications suggestive of chronic stress (such as sleep disorders, mood changes, prolonged discomfort etc.). The results from this part of research seem to confirm the essence and the demand for the effective implementations of anti-stress interventions, as exemplified by a case study of such implementations in a large organization. The case study, described in detail in the last section of the book, serves to verify this author's model of stress interventions management presented in the earlier sections. One of the most important rationales behind this publication was to commit to disproval of a common myth which holds that stress is an inestimable phenomenon and that effective reduction of stress (while important for individuals) is of no practical significance for the economy, organizations, and the society as such. This publication is addressed to managers, psychologists and HR business partners willing to explore and successfully implement the ideas of employee well- -being. The book can also be useful to experts in economic sciences as a fundament for practical evaluation and estimation of costs and benefits offered by human capital investments in organizations. Lastly, the publication may serve as a broad compendium of knowledge and empirical findings on the subject for any fellow scientist and researcher interested in interdisciplinary aspects of the studied area.(original abstract)
To, w jaki sposób jednostka podchodzi do nagłej zmiany sytuacji, warunkuje skuteczność jej działania i tempo przywrócenia równowagi. (abstrakt oryginalny)
Call centers are contact centers that act as communication facilities between customers and businesses with the help of customer representatives. The call center sector where transactions are carried out largely without face to face communication is known as a sector with the most stressful and is also known with having the highest employee turnover rate. Customer representatives are not able to use any initiative and they have too many workloads; for this reason, they are frazzled. In addition, customer representatives need to play role despite of their natural emotions. This affects the emotional labor behavior of sector employees. In this study, the job stress' mediating role at emotional labor's effect on intention to leave is investigated. Data was collected from two call centers operating in Bitlis province in Turkey by using survey method. Analyzes were made with the SPSS 23 and AMOS 22 programs through 207 valid questionnaires. In the analyzes made, job stress has full mediating effect at emotional labor variable's surface acting dimension's effect on intention to leave. Due to the correlation analyzes performed, there was a significant relationship between surface acting and natural emotions (expression of naturally felt emotions) dimension of emotional labor variable with job stress and intention to leave.(original abstract)
