Abstrakty

Unia walutowa i gospodarcza charakteryzuje się tym, w odróżnieniu od wspólnego rynku, że wszystkie ważniejsze dziedziny polityki gospodarczej są koordynowane, a władzę ekonomiczną pełnią organy ponadnarodowe. W pracy omówiono dotychczasowe działania państw EWG zmierzające do tych unii od lat 70-tych do 90-tych, ważniejsze wskaźniki charkteryzujące gospodarki tych krajów, a także korzyści i koszty wynikające z tworzenia takich unii.

In the article an attempt was made at a presentation of causes - of both economic and political nature - of efforts undertaken by the European Community member states to form an economic and monetary union. Further on, the author discussed the earlier attempts that had been made to set up a union in the region in question. The author also aims at the determination of the principles of the creation and functioning of such a union in the 90s. An analysis of the indicators of convergence for individual countries was carried out. It's task was to demonstrate the state of preparations for setting up a union. In the final part the author specified the benefits and costs of the creation of a union on the territory of the European Community. (original abstract)
