Przedstawiono i scharakteryzowano instytucje zajmujące się restrukturyzacją gospodarki w województwie kieleckim. Zwrócono uwagę na współpracę między nimi, hierarchię ważności, osiągnięcia i niepowodzenia, bariery rozwoju i restrukturyzacji, a także znaczenie elit lokalnych.

The paper constitutes an attempt at presentingon the basis of the Kielce Province the regional and local conditions underlying Poland's economy. It comprises the results of field research conducted in the various institutions of the province which are involved in the process of economic restructuring. Baside a short characterizationof the province the author attempts to provide a wider picture of the situation of enterprises operating in the region. The paper contains the results of a survey on the barriers, achievements and failures of the restructuring process against the existing institutions. The author also points the network of links between the institutions which have been subject of the research in question and he pays a particular attention to the role which is played in the entire process by the lokal elite.
