W artykule przedstawiono rolę krajów Trzeciego Świata w światowych połowach i w światowym handlu produktami rybnymi w latach 80-tych i na początku lat 90-tych oraz w kształtowaniu się obowiązującego międzynarodowego prawa morza.

Implementation of exclusive fishing zones is considered as a main factor influencing the world fisheries in 1980's and 1990's. The article tries to verify thesis on advantageous influence of changes in the law of the sea on fishery in the developing countries. The basis for verification is the share of developing states in the total world catch and in the international seafood trade 1980's and 1990's. The result of analysis shows that the developing conutries increased their fisheries and were able to compete with the developed countries on the seafood market. This is also a prove on prevailing influence of the changes to the law of the sea on the world's fishery and its advantageous role in the fishery of the developing countries. (original abstract)
