Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie struktury przedsiębiorstw województwa świętokrzyskiego oraz ustalenie w jakim stopniu gospodarka regionu jest nowoczesna i posiada zdolności adaptacyjne do nowych warunków działania. Autorka ocenie poddaje przestrzenne rozmieszczenie przedsiębiorstw w regionie, ich udział ilościowy wg sekcji EKD oraz podsekcji działalności produkcyjnej.
The trade structure of business undertaking operating in a given area defines the level of its development, modernity and economic innovation. Innovation branches, tractable to investments, initiation of new technical and organisational execution, favour the formation of the new enterprises and organisations. The unfavourable phenomena of business undertakings in Świętokrzyskie Province include the unequal spatial arrangements of economic activity, concentrated mainly in industrial centers. According to the EKD sektion, the structure is also adverse, as it is characterised by the prevaling participation of retail trade in the overall number of business undertakings. The municipality initiation in using economic instruments is insufficient as well. The positive factor, however, is strngthening the building trade which has attracted well-known foreign investors. The vulnerable, agricultural administrative districts on the outskirts of the province are characterised by the strong participation of food industry enterprises. The modern manufacture of food products is the chance for these districts to overcome the process of recession. (original abstract)
