Abstrakty

Artykuł koncentruje się na problematyce małych grup: formalnych i nieformalnych istniejących w organizacjach. Ukazuje też niektóre mechanizmy działające w grupach. Poznanie zasad funkcjonowania grup społecznych, ich dynamiki i struktury, zdaniem autorki jest konieczne w pracy menedżera w celu skutecznego wykorzystania grupy do osiągnięcia wyznaczonych celów.

The achievements of companies are in most cases the credit of people who professionally plan and organise the activities of groups of people, motivating subordinates, stimulating them to effective activity, self-development and mutual co-operation. The modern, effective managing people has become art. Each manager works with people and 'through' people, that is with everyone that can contribute to achieving aims he or she is interested in achieving, therefore his or her interpersonal abilities are so important in his work. The modern manager has to know the principles of working with a group -its structure and dynamics, as each of its elements influences its members differently, s/he has to be able to create good teams and select the best people to work in them. The effectiveness of a group and its members' motivation to work depends on the style of managing of the group. (original abstract)
