The Application of the Rational Expectations Model for a Description of the Shaping of Average Wages in Poland in Poland, February 1991 - April 1995
Języki publikacji
The study provides the results of an estimation of the average wage function. The estimation was carried out by means of the instrumental variables method which accepts as instruments the exogenic variables occurring in the model and a sequence corresponding to theoretical values for the variable p, taken from the delay distribution model for P= 1 and S=4 and alternatively, P= 2 and S=4. All estimations have proper symbols, are statistically essential, and their absolute values come from permissible variabilility intervals. The obtained results throw a new light on the functioning of inflation processes in Poland during the transformation period. They prove that expected price changes have an basic impact on shaping average wages in the enterprise sector. This finding is a confirmation of a universally held opinion about the role of expectation in the acceleration of the inflation. (original abstract)
