Abstrakty

Współcześnie światową sytuację żywnościową charakteryzuje głęboka rozbieżność między nadmiarem a niedostatkiem żywności. Problem ten pogłębiły rosnące ceny żywności na rynkach światowych w latach 2007-2008. Pilnej reformy wymaga także światowy system wsparcia rolnictwa w krajach rozwijających się. Zjawiska te są istotną barierą dla wdrażania zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju, zarówno w skali globalnej, jak i lokalnej. Dlatego też obecnie możemy dostrzec zmiany w myśleniu o światowym bezpieczeństwie żywnościowym. Państwa wysoko rozwinięte oraz organizacje międzynarodowe zauważyły znaczenie rozwoju rolnictwa w krajach rozwijających się dla zwalczania zjawiska głodu i poprawy jakości życia. Działania takie zostały podjęte m.in. przez ONZ oraz Unię Europejską. Pytaniem pozostaje jednak kwestia skuteczności proponowanych rozwiązań. (abstrakt oryginalny)

World food situation today is characterized by a deep gap between the excess and scarcity of food. This problem is exacerbated by rising food prices on world markets in 2007-2008. Also, the global system of support to agriculture in developing countries requires urgent reform. These effects are a significant barrier to the implementation of the principles of sustainable development, both on global and local scale. Therefore, now we can see changes in thinking about global food security. Highly developed countries and international organizations have noted the importance of agricultural development in developing countries in combating hunger and improving the quality of life. Such actions have been taken by the United Nations and the European Union. However, the question remains the problem of effectiveness of the proposed solutions. (original abstract)
