W artykule przeanalizowano materiały dotyczących akcji wysiedleńczej ludności Polski. Przedstawiono szczegółowo przygotowania do tej akcji oraz omówiono dwa etapy akcji wysiedleńczych na Zamojszczyźnie.

Analysis of materials concerning the displacement-settlement action, brings a reflection to mind that in particular, the fate of the Polish population constituted it focal point of the politics of Nazi Germany. Occupation authorities being at the peak of their military successes with the huge scrupulosity prepared guidelines concerning eastern lands of Poland. Plans of Nazis aimed at closing down all elements threatening safety of the Third Reich. They were trying to make it through: depriving the population of the national identity, impossibility of personal development, crumpling the individuality. Poles go the role of "submen", and were robbed entirely of remains of human dignity. During the World War II, the exterminatory hostile policy manifested itself in diverse forms. Basic value was to destroy families and separating children from mothers and fathers. A lot of persons were taken away for forced works in the Third Reich, where they were treated like slaves. Children were taken away from their mothers. Mothers were forced to have an abortion. The population was deprived of its possessions, condemned to poverty, hunger and suffering in displacement camps. Not a less tragic fate concerned children they were being placed in education centres in the territory of Germany. Numerous groups of Poles around Zamojszczyzna were lost in Nazi torments in Oświęcim, Bełżec or Majdanek. While displacing peculiarly dramatic moments suffered deprived of care, intimidated children, many times they were witnesses of murders and cruel practice. Both stages of the displacement-settlement action in Zamojszczyzna were conected with numerous crimes committed by Gestapo Officers and SS-men, such as: pacifications, mass executions, harassments, beating, tortures. However, precise preparations and long-term plans, involving legislating against Zamojszczyzna with the first areas of settlement in the General Governorship, failed. Passive and dynamic resistance of the local population, manifesting itself in mass escapes, guerrilla activity, revenges on German colonists constituted the main cause of such a state of affairs. Moreover, an infighting was an important factor between the administration department of the General-Governorship and the command of SS police. A fact of total defeat of the Third Reich determined the ultimate failure on the eastern front. A problem of the responsibility for committed crimes on Zamojszczyzna population is controversial. For many torturers Nazi managed to avoid justice. Many of them are free people to this day. Only a few criminals were acquitted. (original abstract)
