Abstrakty

Rozpoczęta w 2001 roku w Doha runda wielostronnych negocjacji handlowych, odbywająca się na forum Światowej Organizacji Handlu, w centrum zainteresowania stawia interesy krajów rozwijających się. Konieczność uwzględnienia sprzecznych interesów wielu krajów sprawia, że nie udało się do tej pory osiągnąć ostatecznego porozumienia. Artykuł przedstawia możliwe skutki zakończenia Rundy dla krajów rozwiniętych i rozwijających się na podstawie analiz wykorzystujących modele równowagi ogólnej, które mimo pewnych wad są najczęściej wykorzystywane do określenia efektów polityki handlowej. Badania pokazują ograniczone znaczenie negocjacji dla światowego dobrobytu oraz zróżnicowanie ich skutków między krajami. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Launched in 2001 in Doha a new round of multilateral trade negotiations carried out within the World Trade Organization is supposed to focus more on the interests of developing countries. Necessity to take into account varying interests of many countries makes it difficult to conclude the round and achieve an agreement. The article presents most recent studies that use the Computable General Equilibrium models to simulate possible gains (and losses) from various liberalization scenarios. The effects are moderate and distributed unevenly among developed and developing countries. Among the latter there are some that might lose rather than benefit from the Round. (original abstract)
