Abstrakty

Ochrona zdrowia to jeden z obszarów życia społecznego i gospodarczego, w którym zachodzą obecnie olbrzymie zmiany, zarówno w Polsce, jak i na całym świecie. Celem tych zmian jest zbudowanie i wdrożenie takich rozwiązań organizacyjnych i medycznych, które zapewnią efektywne sprawowanie opieki zdrowotnej przy zachowaniu jej wymaganych standardów. Krajowe systemy ochrony zdrowia konsumują coraz większą część produktu krajowego brutto (PKB). W 2010 r. wydatki na ochronę zdrowia w USA wynosiły 17,9 % PKB1, w krajach Unii Europejskiej - 9 % PKB, w tym środki publiczne stanowiły 6,5 %, natomiast w Polsce - 7 % PKB (5 % - środki publiczne). Eksperci prognozują, iż koszty funkcjonowania systemu będą rosły w kolejnych latach. Według amerykańskiej rządowej agencji Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), w 2021 r. w USA będą one stanowiły aż 20 % PKB. Przewiduje się także, iż w Unii Europejskiej w 2020 r. środki publiczne przeznaczone na ten cel będą kształtowały się na poziomie 7 % PKB, a w Polsce - 4,7 % PKB.(fragment tekstu)

This paper presents a concept of healthcare entities' management oriented on an intensive use of analytical data in order to increase the efficiency and the quality of business and medical services performance. Putting this concept in practice requires a new approach to the possessed data and its value in the decision processes. This value is created by the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) that enables data-driven management. The areas of analytics supporting business and clinical decisions, the barriers and the benefits as well as the key factors of BI adoption have been discussed here. Furthermore, a case study has been presented in order to illustrate the use of BI in an independent public healthcare facility.(original abstract)
