EN
Emigration, which has been rapidly increasing since XX century is - with its mass scale and the difficulties, stress and tribulations that accompany it and that touch individuals as well as whole groups - is one of the major factors that disturb their mental balance and thwart their stable development. Therefore it is a subject of vivid interest of transcultural psychiatry. All the more since its effects - such as acculturation or 'westernisation', which aggravate the stress - are subsequent negative consequences of the individual and group migrations mentioned.
