Abstrakty

Przedmiotem rozważań są systemy klasy business intelligence i oferowane przez nie możliwości w zakresie usług analitycznych. Przedstawiona została definicja inteligencji biznesowej, jej rys historyczny, elementy systemu BI oraz to, jakie podmioty i w jakim celu korzystają z usług analitycznych potrzebuje usług analitycznych. Analiza zagadnień związanych z eksploracją danych i hurtowniami danych (porównanie OLAP i OLTP). Przedstawiono przykładowe zapotrzebowania na analizy w biznesie oraz rozważania o analizach, które pomógłby rozwiązać system BI na uczelniach wyższych. Zwrócono uwagę m.in. na problemy ograniczoności mocy obliczeniowych komputerów w relacji do ogromnej ilości danych i rozproszenia danych. Zaproponowano usługi cloud computing jako sposób na obniżenie kosztów i "nieograniczone" moce obliczeniowe dla usług analitycznych w środowiskach zwirtualizowanych. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The subject of this article is Business Intelligence systems and their possibilities in the scope of analytical services. The description concerns the definition of BI, its historical outline, its elements and for whom and why it is useful. The issues of data mining and data warehouse (comparison of OLAP and OLTP) are included. The examples of needs for analytical services in business are presented and aspects of services which can be useful for universities. Attention is paid, among others, to limitations of computing power in relation to an enormous amount of data and data distraction. Cloud computing services are proposed as a method of cost reduction and "unlimited" computing power for analytical services in virtual environments. (original abstract)
