Cutting-edge IS/IT (information system/information technology) strategies rarely happen by accident. IS managers have the responsibility for developing IS strategy and managing the day-to-day IS operations of the organization. There are a number of ways to go about developing IS strategic plans. The aim of this article is to explore some examples of IS strategic thinking to provide insights into the ways that IS can be maximised for organizational advantage. (fragment of text)
Technologia informatyczna (IT) i systemy informacyjne (IS) mogą być efektywnie wykorzystane w tworzeniu i implementacji skutecznej strategii organizacji. Najnowsze podejście zakłada wręcz, że IT/IS stają się zasadniczym czynnikiem wszelkich zmian strategicznych. Zjawisko to jest odzwierciedlane przez coraz częściej spotykaną konwergencję technologii, wizji i misji wielu firm. Podejściem uzupełniającym jest równoległe tworzenie dynamicznego środowiska wewnętrznego firmy, zmierzającego do kreowania organizacji opartej na wiedzy. Również to podejście byłoby niemożliwe do realizacji bez nowoczesnej technologii informatycznej. (abstrakt oryginalny)
