Abstrakty

Pośród różnych zawodów medycznych na szczególną uwagę zasługuje praca położnej. Do podstawowych zadań osób wykonujących ten zawód należy opieka nad pacjent- kami ciężarnymi i chorymi ginekologicznie, co wiąże się z koniecznością realizowania obowiązków zawodowych pod dużą presją. Jak wskazuje literatura przedmiotu, praca położnej wymaga łączenia wiedzy medycznej z silnie rozwiniętymi kompetencjami o charakterze społecznym. Dodatkowo praca w tym obszarze wiąże się z doświadcza- niem silnego lęku. W związku z powyższym podjęto próbę udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie jakie jest natężenie inteligencji emocjonalnej oraz lęku w grupie kobiet pracujących jako położne, oraz porównania natężenia obu tych cech w grupach położnych i innych kobiet pracujących w zawodach niemedycznych. Podjęto także próbę udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy w badanych grupach występują zależności między natężeniem inteligencji emocjonalnej oraz lęku. W tym celu od grupy 100 kobiet powyżej 20 roku życia, spośród których 50 wykonywało zawód położnej, a 50 realizowało obowiązki zawodowe w zawodach niemedycznych. Zgromadzono dane z wykorzystaniem Popularnego Kwestionariusza Inteligencji Emocjonalnej PKIE oraz Inwentarza Stanu i Cechy Lęku STAI. Uzyskane rezultaty wskazują, że położne charakteryzują się wysokim ogólnym poziomem inteligencji emocjonalnej, akceptacji i empatii oraz umiarkowanym poziomem kontroli i rozumienia. Badane położne deklarowały ponadto doświadczanie umiarkowanego natężenia lęku. Uzyskane wyniki pozostają zgodne z wcześniejszymi doniesieniami dotyczącymi funkcjonowania położnych. Mogą ponadto stanowić przyczynek dla dalszych badań w tym obszarze.(abstrakt oryginalny)

Among medical professions special attention should be given to midwives. The ba- sic tasks of midwives include caring for pregnant women and gynecological patients, which is connected with a great pressure. According to the literature, work of a midwife requires connecting medical knowledge and social competencies. Additionally wor- king in that area corresponds with experiencing high anxiety. Due to those reasons the attempt to answer the question about the level of emotional intelligence and anxiety levels in midwives was made. Also the level of those two traits was compared in the group of midwives and other women working in non-medical professions. An attempt was made to verify whether there are any correlations between the levels of emotional intelligence and anxiety. A study was conducted in which 100 women above 20 years of age participated, out of which 50 were midwives, and another 50 were professionally active in non-medical professions. The data was collected with two standardized qu- estionnaires Popular Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire PKIE and State Trait Anxiety Inventory STAI. Gathered data proves that midwives have a high level of general emo- tional intelligence, high levels of acceptance and empathy. They are also characterized by a medium level of control and understanding. Midwives participating in the study declared experiencing a medium level of anxiety. Presented results are in congruence with previous data concerning midwives' functioning. They can also be useful in planning future research in that field.(original abstract)
