This work consists of usage possibilities verification of the raw wood material value pricing formula during processing into timber. Seven beech trees with the breast height diameter about 40 cm have been chosen for test and cut down. Quality control in the forest has been done and after cross-cut and transport to sawmill, received logs have been classified again. Grades from quality-control-inspectors in the forest and in the sawmill were the same. After single sawing, obtained 38 mm boards have been classified and measured. Roundwood price has been estimated according to the wood quality class, basing on boards yield and market prices. Results of the research showed the highest profitability of the lower grade wood processing, because well-defined advantage of the computable value over market prices is noticeable.(original abstract)

Abstract. The results of questionnaire study determining consumer preferences when purchasing wooden products or their substitutes made of materials other than wood were presented. Functional qualities of products were evaluated. Consumer preferences were determined within 5 groups of products: 1) woodwork, floor and mural materials; 2) buildings and construction materials; 3) furniture; 4) paper and packaging; 5) firewood. Wood despite its rather low fire- resistance and poor resistance to weather conditions, however due to significant functional features constitutes a valuable, universal and eagerly used material. The paper presents the problem of quality assurance of the laser cutting process of wood and wood-like materials and the selection of optimal processing conditions with respect to the required evaluation criteria. An experiment conducted to identify processing difficulties and potential causes of defects is described. Samples of three materials: pine wood, hardwood plywood and mixed wood HDF with a thickness of 4 mm were cut with a CO2 laser and visually inspected and the width of the slit was measured. It was found that there was a relationship between the laser operating parameters and the obtained slit width. The higher the cutting speed, the narrower the slit. The obtained numerical results allowed to formulate technological guidelines on the selection of laser parameters depending on the material. In turn, based on the visual inspection, defects depending on the material properties were identified. An example of a non-conformity identification manual was developed, which includes illustrations to enable comparative analysis in production. It was found that in the studied process, different criteria can be adopted to qualify a product as compliant or non-compliant. A dilemma may then arise as to which criterion is more important. Therefore, a quality evaluation criteria verification sheet was proposed. Furthermore, due to the fact that the success of the laser cutting process is also dependent on other factors, a list of risks to the process was made. (original abstract)

Wyniki analizy wskazują, że zużycie produktów drzewnych w gospodarce ukraińskiej jest sześciokrotnie mniejsze w porównaniu z gospodarką polską i dwudziestokrotnie mniejsze w porównaniu z gospodarką niemiecką. Okazuje się również, że koszt produkcji drewna na Ukrainie jest najwyższy ze wszystkich krajów UE. Opisano różnice między modelowaniem sił skrawania występujących skali makro a modelowaniem sił skrawania występujących podczas mikroobróbki. Ze względu na promień ostrza narzędzia porównywalny z grubością warstwy skrawanej klasyczny model sił skrawania nie jest odpowiedni do opisu sił skrawania występujących podczas mikrofrezowania. Analiza stycznej i promieniowej siły skrawania działających na ostrze narzędzia może pomóc w ulepszeniu modelu sił skrawania. W prezentowanym materiale opisano sposób wyznaczania lokalnych sił skrawania działających na ostrze obracającego się narzędzia. Siły zostały wyznaczone na pod-stawie sił zmierzonych przez trójosiowy siłomierz. Do wyznaczenia lokalnych sił skrawania konieczna jest znajomość kątowego położenia narzędzia. Kątowe położenie narzędzia zostało wyznaczone na podstawie modelu sił skrawania. Zaprezentowano wyniki pomiarów sił oraz wyznaczone przebiegi stycznej i promieniowej siły skrawania. Przedstawiono wnioski wynikające z przeprowadzonych badań oraz plany dalszych prac. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Proponowana funkcja ma klasyczną postać wielomianu, gdzie zmiennymi objaśniającymi funkcji są mierniki cząstkowe uwzględniające specyfikę przedsiębiorstw przerobu drewna i towarzyszące im współczynniki ważkości.
