Abstrakty

Artykuł jest przeglądem problemów, które czekają ludzkość na początku nowego stulecia. Wzrost zaludnienia cechować będzie starzenie się społeczeństw, różnice terytorialne w szybkości wzrostu demograficznego i migracje. Coraz większe zanieczyszczenie środowiska to przede wszystkim zanieczyszczenie powietrza i wzrost produkcji chemikaliów. Urbanizacja pogorszy warunki życia w aglomeracjach. Zmiany w środowisku naturalnym to utrata bioróżnorodności i zużycie surowców naturalnych. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The article is a review of problems facing humankind at the start of the new millennium. The population growth will be coupled with population ageing, regional differences in the rate of population growth and migration. The increasing environmental pollution will mean mainly the poor air quality and increased chemical industry outputs. The growth of mega-cities will worsen quality of life for many. Changes in natural environment will entail the loss of biodiversity and depletion оf natural resources. (original abstract)
