Zaprezentowano fragment badań opisujących zjawisko przedsiębiorczości na Sądecczyźnie w latach 2001-2004. W analizie ograniczono się do branżowych aspektów przedsiębiorczości, przedstawiając najistotniejsze parametry opisujące Sądecczyznę jako obiekt badań.

This article presents selected issues on the development of entrepreneurship in the Nowy Sącz sub-region, focussing on the Nowy Sącz powiat (district) including the town of Nowy Sącz. The authors examine the 2001-04 period, as well as the year 2000 for selected characteristics. The purpose of this research was to present the entrepreneurship development processes in the sub-region, both quantitatively and with respect to branch structure. The authors made the assumption that the establishment of new businesses is the main manifestation of entrepreneurship. Therefore, the increase in the number of businesses, after accounting for firms exiting the market and comparing the results from consecutive years, enabled the authors to observe the state of entrepreneurship development in the sub-region. The analysis was based on figures from the Tax Office in Nowy Sącz, supplemented with materials from the Central Statistical Office and the Powiat Office in Nowy Sącz.(original abstract)
