The stages of evolution of the supply chain and the advantages and disadvantages of each are analyzed and outlined in the article. Different interpretations of the concept of supply chain and its characteristics are shown. Supply chain management and improvement of its effectiveness are characterized. The structure of the supply chain and its components are shown. (original abstract)
