Based on questionnaire surveys conducted in selected mechanical engineering industry enterprises the authors presented users' expectations in the range of created system supporting knowledge management. The analysis was carried out to determine the IT tools which are necessary in the process of building the system supporting knowledge management. Based on undertaken investigations the conception of the functional range of the system supporting knowledge management was given to potential users of the system. (original abstract)
