We will first concentrate on one the components of the total claim amount - the individual claim amount. (...) We will present statistical techniques used to describe the variation in claim amounts by finding a loss distribution that adequately describes the claims that actually occur using appropriate statistical computer packages. Finally we will present some ways in which we can calculate or approximate G(x), the distribution function of aggregate claims for the collective risk model. (fragment of text)
